Based on Decree ΚΔΠ 455/2024 pursuant to Article 11(6), issued by the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, all employers in Cyprus must register the essential terms of employment for all their employees in the “ERGANI” information system by February 28th, 2025.
The essential terms of employment to be registered in the “ERGANI” system, as outlined in the Decree, are as follows:
- Employer Details
- Type of Business (applicable for retail businesses)
- Employee Details
- Employer’s Registered Office
- Place of Work: As per the employment contract and the actual place of work at the time of registration
- Job Description and Employee’s Specialty
- Employment Start Date
- Employment End Date (for fixed-term contracts)
- Indirect Employer Details (for temporary employment businesses)
- Terms and Duration of the Probation/Trial Period
- Duration of Annual Leave and Allocation Method
- Salary/Wages and Payment Frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or hourly)
- Working Hours: Standard workday/week schedule
- Unpredictable Work Schedule: Indication if the employee’s schedule is unpredictable
- Other Benefits/Allowances: Such as commissions, cost-of-living allowance, etc.
The relevant Decree requires the creation of an employer account in the “ERGANI”, if not already created, as well as the creation of an “Employment Contract” for all employees without any exception.
Employers are required to ensure compliance with the above registration process within the specified deadline.
