Following recent amendments to the “Aliens and Immigration” Law, the Cypriot Migration Department has confirmed that the Blue Card scheme was officially came into effect on Monday, July 7th, 2025. This initiative aims to attract highly qualified non-EU nationals and strengthen the Cypriot economy.
Key Features of the Blue Card:
- Target Group: Designed for highly skilled non-EU nationals, whether currently residing legally in Cyprus or planning to relocate.
- Eligible Sectors: Employment opportunities are available in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Pharmaceuticals, and Shipping.
- Minimum Salary Threshold: Set at €43,632 gross per year.
- Validity Period: The Blue Card is issued for up to 3 years, with the possibility of renewal.

- EU Mobility: Freedom to live and work across all EU Member States (excluding Denmark and Ireland) and EEA countries.
